The Society for Technology in Anesthesia (STA) has awarded its J. S. Gravenstein Lifetime Achievement Award to Anecare’s Dr. Dwayne Westenskow, Ph.D. “I am honored to be included in the list of past recipients,” said Westenskow. “I am humbled to be recognized by an organization with a great track record of advancing technology in anesthesia.” The Society for Technology in Anesthesia (STA) is an international organization whose mission is to improve the quality of patient care by advancing technology and its application. The Society promotes education and research, sponsors meetings and exhibitions, awards grants and recognizes achievement. Westenskow is a long-time member of the STA. He served on the STA board of directors from 1990-1992, was president in 1995, and has been an active member of the group since its inception. Among his many achievements, Westenskow is also a Professor of Anesthesiology, Bioengineering and Medical Informatics, Director of the Bioengineering Division, Department of Anesthesiology and an inventor of the Anecare QED-100™, a device designed to actively eliminate inhaled anesthetics from a patient. Demonstrating the STA philosophy at work, Westenskow’s invention has been clinically shown to dramatically improve a patient’s recovery from general inhaled anesthesia. Westenskow currently serves on the Anecare board of directors and is actively involved in research and development of new products. “We are pleased and proud that our colleague, Dr. Westenskow, has been honored by the STA. His previous and ongoing contributions to Anecare and the field of anesthesiology are considerable,” commented Michael Slatter, CEO of Anecare, Inc.” About Anecare, Inc. # # # For more information, contact Ryan Brooks at Anecare at 801-977-8877. |
